Fox Walk
Walking like a fox is a great way to get into the mind of a predator, while also slowing down enough to increase your awareness of your surroundings. Predators and prey alike require stealth when moving through their habitats. Predators need to sneak up on their prey, and prey need to pass through dangerous territory undetected.
Relax and bend your knees. Keep your center of gravity over your hips, and lift one foot while remaining balanced. Spot the bit of ground you think will make the least noise, and slowly lower your foot, starting with the outside edge of the ball of your foot (the part closest to the pinky toe).
If the ground is silent so far, continue rolling your foot inward until the entire ball of your foot is on the ground. At this point, you can shift your weight to the front foot without ever putting your heel on the ground, and continue in this fashion, or you can lower your heel to the ground for more stability.
