ODS Curriculum
A collection of Animals Field Study information, for prospective and current animals student leaders or staff, these pages contain information found on cue cards, tips on how to teach each station or concept, and links to outside resources. These lessons represent a complete curriculum for a full day (long stations + hike) or a half day (short stations + hike) of field study.
The "Long" Stations
with a full day of animals field study, half the day is spent on stations Birds Owls Skulls Arthropods Sound Map Pelts A & B The Bat Cave Horns & Antlers |
The "Short" Stations
with a half day of field study, students learn one 20-minute station Mustelidae & Mephitidae Reptiles & Amphibians Canines & Felines Primarily Prey Birds of Prey Scavengers Passerines Rodents |
The Animals Hike
all students on animals field study participate in a hike, searching for signs of life and focusing on habitat, adaptation, & niche |
